Nature Journaling for Kids

Date(s) - 04/16/2019
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship

The Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship is calling all young nature lovers, ages 8-12. Join us on Tuesday, April 16, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. Make your own bound journal and explore the natural world in the meadow and beside the pond. We will be walking, using our observation skills to find interesting aspects of the awakening spring wildlife. By learning different creative ways to observe and record these findings, we will come away with a journal which can be used in future walks or backyard observations.

Bring a portable snack and a water bottle. Dress for walking outdoors in any weather: wear sturdy, closed toe shoes; long pants and long-sleeved shirts are suggested.

For parents who want to stay, there will be a separate nature walk for you while the children are on their walk.

There’s a $5 supply fee for each child. Registration is required. Sign up here.
