Beginner Birding for Kids

Date(s) - 04/18/2019

Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship

The Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship is calling all young bird lovers, ages 8-12.  Come join us on Thursday, April 18, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.  Learn to become a bird sleuth in your own backyard.  There will be a class to help you identify our common birds using binoculars and field guides, both of which we supply.  We will then be walking on the trails to see what birds we can find.  Bring a portable snack and a water bottle.  Dress according to weather conditions: wear sturdy, closed toe shoes; long pants and long-sleeved shirts are suggested.

For parents who want to stay, there will be a separate nature walk for you while the children are on their walk.

There’s a $5 supply fee for each child.  Registration is required. Sign up here.
